Saaho is the 3rd-Highest Hindi Opener of 2019, Know How Much it Earned

Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Saaho,' the highly-anticipated action film of 2019, has been the talk of the town since the day of filmmakers released its teaser. Even the trailer and the songs of the film have received a lot of love from all the quarters. And, the action flick, which is created in almost four languages, is one most expensive films in the history of Indian cinema.

The movie has finally hit the theatres on August 30 after a huge pre-release buzz around the film. Though, owing to the late delivery of 2K prints to theatres, the northern states faced a delay in the release.

So, 'Saaho' in Hindi raked in Rs 24 crore on its opening day, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Movie critic Taran Adarsh tweeted flick’s collection and wrote,

“#Saaho has a superb Day 1... Prabhas’ superstardom post #Baahubali2 + hype surrounding the biggie + excellent advance bookings ensured fantastic numbers... Day 2 and 3 biz crucial to pack a solid weekend total... Fri ₹ 24.40 cr Nett BOC. India biz. #Hindi version.”

He further wrote,

Talking about the plot, Prabhas, who is out to investigate a robbery of Rs 2000 crore in Mumbai, plays an undercover police officer. And, with Hollywood’s action director Kenny Bates directing the action sequences, Prabhas fights criminals like a pro. Must say Saaho promises to be an extravagant spectacle for moviegoers. Moreover, the movie showcases love interest between Prabhas and Shraddha playing Amrita Nair, a crime branch officer.

Well, Saaho’s opening day collection is the third-best of the year in the Hindi market. On the other hand, Saaho is the second-best after 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' as a Hindi-dubbed south film. Moreover, 'Saaho' has replaced Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer '2.0' which was on the second position.

Trade analyst Girish Johar, speaking to Indianexpress.com, said,

“The expectations from Saaho are pretty much high especially down south because Prabhas is a megastar and he has got a massive following over there. In Hindi also, he has a familiar and comfortable tracking among his fans and he has the biggest hit Baahubali to his credit. The pre-release trends suggest Saaho will have an excellent start at the box office.”

He added,

“Predominantly, Saaho will have a huge wave at the south box office but in Hindi also the makers are planning to have a wide release in over 3500 screens which shows the craze among the exhibitors and the audience.”
