Taapsee Wraps Up ‘Thappad,’ Says Working with Anubhav Can be a Curse

'Mulk' director-actor combo Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha are back to entertain us with an upcoming social drama 'Thappad.'

Taapsee Pannu has some big projects in her kitty and was last seen in Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal. The actress is recently gearing up for the release of Saand Ki Aankh with Bhumi Pednekar. Apart from that, Taapsee was working with Anubhav Sinha for Thappad and wrapped up recently.

Even though Pannu was excited to team up with the director, she got emotional over the wrapping up of the flick.

Tapsee shared a picture on Instagram and wrote,

“Final pack up on #Thappad
31 days flew faster than storm but left the same impact. While most of the times I am thanking my stars to get a chance to work with such a director ( in this case I got lucky twice ) but other times I see it as a curse. Curse of too much comfort , too much ease, too complex an emotion simplified too easily, too much to learn, too much of happiness, the only thing too little is the number of days spent on set. Damn! It’s gonna be tough moving on to the next one... Until we shake the world again..... @anubhavsinhaa I shall haunt u as your nutritionist if not an actor ! 🤗”

The actor also shared a video clip on her Instagram story, where she is seen excited and screaming as they shoot the last scene.

She can be heard saying in the video,

"Its time to party. Let's go and celebrate."

The film also features Dia Mirza. She also shared a post on social media with the caption,

“कुछ कहानियाँ हम सब से बड़ी होतीं हैं! इस #Thappad  की गूँज दूर तक जाएगी। some more incredible women who are a part of this amazing film are not a part of this picture. Thank you @anubhavsinha for telling this story and bringing us all together 🙏🏻  @taapsee”

In reply to that, Taapsee retweeted her post with one more overwhelming message and wrote,

“Bohot duur tak.....
❤️
Some films will always have a piece of you left in them , forever.Thappad”

If we talk about the plot of the film, it explores the basis of a man-woman relationship and gender equality via an engaging story of a husband and wife. It is said to revolve around the issue of gender equality rising day by day in our society. The movie will also feature Ratna Pathak Shah, Manav Kaul, Tanvi Azmi, and Ram Kapoor in key roles apart from Dia and Taapsee.

Thappad has been shot in the locales of Delhi and Lucknow and happens to be Anubhav’s 11th project. And, majorly, the film was shot in Lucknow. And, most importantly, it is the fourth film of Anubhav Sinha, which is shot in the City of Nawabs. Before this one, the director had also shot films like 'Mulk,' 'Article 15,' and 'Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai' in Lucknow.

As we have already mentioned, the first collaboration of Tapsee and  Anubhav was in Mulk, which was released on August 3, 2018. It starred Rishi Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Prateik Babbar, Neena Gupta, and Manoj Pahwa in pivotal roles. The social-thriller was jointly produced by Anubhav Sinha and Deepak Mukut.

Meanwhile, the star is all set for her next film’s release Saand Ki Aankh, which also featuring Bhumi Pednekar in a lead role. The film’s story will revolve around the two octogenarian sharpshooters Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar. Saand Ki Aankh’s trailer is very intriguing, and it is about to hit the theaters on October 25.

The movie ‘Thappad’ is slated to hit the screens in March next year, i.e., on Women’s Day, and we all are eagerly waiting for its trailer.
