IIFA Awards 2019: Look Who Wore What & Who Won the Awards

The most glamorous night of the year telecasted yesterday, i.e., the 20th edition of IIFA Awards. Yes, all the B-town stars graced the renowned green carpet, IIFA Awards 2019, adorning their best outfits.

With the event being held in Mumbai, the 20th anniversary of the International Indian Film Academy Awards saw a homecoming for the first time. The IIFA Awards, first held in 2000,  honors excellence in the cinematic field.

The biggest stars of Indian cinema, put their best fashion foot forward for the gala while they gathered for the occasion. From Salman Khan to Sara Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, the celebs sizzled on the iconic IIFA Green Carpet.

About the Awards

Alia Bhatt bagged Best Actress Award for the film Raazi, while Director Meghna Gulzar claimed Best Film Award for the same film. In all, the film Raazi won four awards, meanwhile, Andhadhun, and Padmaavat received two awards for each film. For the film Padmaavat,  Ranveer Singh received the Best Actor (Male) Award.

The Best Debut (Male) Award was received by Ishan Khattar for the film Dhadak, while the title of Best Debut Female was awarded to Sara Ali Khan for the film Kedarnath.

The award show also marked the Outstanding Achievement in Cinema award being bestowed upon veteran actor Jagdeep. Ranveer Singh and Director Ramesh Sippy presented him the honor.

20 Years Best Actor (Female): Deepika Padukone

Best Playback Singer (Female): Harshdeep Kaur and Vibha Saraf for Dilbaro from Raazi

Outstanding performance by a director in last 20 years: Rajkumar Hirani for Sanju

20 Years Best Actor (Male): Ranbir Kapoor.

Best Music: Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

Best music in the last 20 years: Pritam

Best film of the past 20 years: Kaho Na Pyaar Hai

Lifetime Achievement Award: Legendary actor and comedian Jagdeep Jeffery

Who Wore What

Well, coming to who wore what, some impressed with their amazing outfits, while others left us disappointed like Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone dressed up as the quirky couple. Yes, Deepika Padukone wore a purple gown with so much glitter on it, while Ranveer tried the Fountain ponytail.

Moreover, Sara Ali Khan, the Fresh Female Face of the Year, who also won debut, looked lovely in a white ball gown even carried it off rather well. The event also witnessed Salman Khan with Dabangg 3 actor Saiee Manjrekar. Well, ‘Bhaijaan’ of Bollywood looks dapper in a crisp navy blue suit.

Even Katrina Kaif brought life to the Green Carpet not only with her ravishing dress but also with her rocking performance.

Alia Bhatt looked ethereal in pastel color gown, with nude makeup look to the Green Carpet. Shahid Kapoor, in his embellished black suit, looked an ever-charmer!

Well, many celebrities brought out a piece of their personality; the men chose formals, but there was a different twist with each one of them.
